The CRC draws together areas of research, wool production and wool processing, and the activities comprise a mix of existing projects and new initiatives. They are focussed on improving product quality and production efficiency at all stages of the wool business system from follicle to finished fabric. The research is complemented by an innovative education program.

Under agreements between the parties and the Commonwealth, the Wool CRC's activities are organised into programs.
